Remote Relations
A thick copper braid made of electrical cables comes down the wall and opens up in a room. The single strands end up in a circle of speakers on the floor.
The composition is based on sounds recorded on the swedish islands Gotland and Farö in 2014 and 2015 in places, which usually are remote and not accessible: sounds taken under water by hydrophones, sounds recorded with electromagnetic devices near military stations, sounds recorded in rural areas difficult to access, sounds recorded with special contact microphones at the seaside. A parallel acoustic world opens up and questions what is the reality of our listening.
