Installations

At the end of the 70s, after a period of concerts and audio-visual performances, Christina Kubisch was tired of performing live on stage. She wanted to create spaces where the audience could move individually between different sound sources, listen with their own inherent time and discover different horizons of music. Right from the start she researched the various possibilities of distributing sound in a given location as well as site specific aspects of the architecture. Most of her large scale installations, indoors and outdoors, were created specifically for a given space.
