Signals in the Dark

Signals in the Dark is based on the analogue technique of electromagnetic induction. The copper cables suspended throughout the space transmit sounds that become audible when wearing custom made headphones equipped with copper coils.

The sound sources are electromagnetic field recordings of surveillance and safety systems, frequencies that are normally inaudible to the human ear. As visitors move through the installation, they encounter unique combinations and variations of rhythmic sequences, shaped by their individual paths.
